What actually matters in Hamburg
- Hamburg is in the snow belt proper. The lake-effect bands that miss downtown Buffalo routinely park here, and seasonal totals regularly run 30 to 50 inches above the airport's official number. Any production model that uses Buffalo airport data for a Hamburg roof is overstating your winter.
- That said, the same lake that buries you in November usually freezes by late January and shuts the machine off. February and March here often outproduce December by a wide margin.
