What actually matters in Medina

  • Medina's building stock is unusual: the local sandstone quarries supplied the material for much of the village, so a high share of houses have masonry walls and slate or heavy roofs. Attachment detailing on a slate roof is a different job from asphalt, and not every installer will price it honestly.
  • Oak Orchard Creek and the Erie Canal culvert run through the village. Unlike Albion, Medina has no county-seat historic-district review over most of its residential streets.
